Growatt & Fronius Solar Inverter Comparison

We have previously analysed two of the top solar inverter brands on the market: Fronius vs Sungrow.

In this article, we will compare Fronius with another popular brand of solar inverters: Growatt.

Before installing a solar system, we recommend doing thorough research on the options available on the market. Since installing a solar system has a significant price, it is essential to make sure that the solar system components that you install will be able to cover your needs and will last for years to come.

At Tenmen Electrical, we are always up to date with the latest technology, offers and features of all brands of solar panels and inverters. So, if you need any information or help choosing the best solar inverter, do not hesitate to contact us.

Solar Company Background

As we mentioned in our previous article Fronius vs Sungrow, Fronius is an Austrian battery maintenance, repair and recharging company. Fronius was one of the pioneers in 1990 and began researching and working in the world of solar energy. This sector has since established itself as one of the most important branches of the company. Therefore, it has thirty years of experience in the sector.

Growatt was founded in 2010, and since then, it has been dedicated to the research, development and manufacturing of solar inverters, creates energy solutions for its customers, and is characterised by its tremendous growth and expansion. In just ten years, it has positioned itself as one of the world’s largest solar inverter companies and has expanded to Germany, the United States, the United Kingdom, Australia, Brazil, etc.

Comparative Guide

In recent years, there has been strong growth in investments in solar panels and inverters worldwide.

Growatt is the second-fastest-growing Chinese company, only behind Huawei. In this article, we will compare one of the largest companies in the world, Fronius, together with Growatt, which despite being newer, is growing rapidly.

Solar Inverter Prices

Fronius is one of the companies with the highest prices; however, it also provides its customers with the greatest security, reliability, quality and warranty.

The numbers prove it, otherwise, it would not have been leading the solar market since 1990.

Growatt is a younger company whose quality and innovation are increasing. Its price is lower, making it more affordable, which can sometimes generate doubt for the customer.

However, it is positioning itself as one of the most powerful solar inverter companies, so that might be for a reason.

If you have a budget and can afford it, Fronius is always a sure hit. However, if you are looking for a more affordable solar inverter, Growatt is an excellent brand to choose from.

Solar Inverter Warranty

As a guarantee, while Fronius provides a warranty of 10 years, Growatt varies according to the product model, and its warranty ranges from 5 years to 10 years.

  • Fronius: 10 years
  • Growatt: 5-10 years

In this aspect, Fronius would have an advantage since not only does it provide more years of warranty, but its 30 years of experience and the trust that customers already have in it gives them more credibility. Also, the company responds quickly to any unforeseen event.

Solar Inverter Performance

– Made in China
– Efficiency: 98.4%
– Support zero-export application
– Free online service
– Remote upgrade
– Built-in DC isolator, for a neat installation
– 5 to 10 years product warranty included

Having said that, both Fronius and Growatt performance sits around or above 98%. In this case, there is not a clear winner.

Conclusion: Sungrow vs. Growatt Solar Inverters – Which Is Better?

Both Fronius and Growatt would be safe choices for solar inverters for your solar system.

Growatt carries the stigma of being based in China for both product creation and production while Fronius is based in Europe. Although these stigmas are becoming outdated as more and more quality products come out of China, there are still people who distrust them. However, Growatt has an efficiency level higher than the vast majority (98.4%) and a commitment to modernity and new technologies.

Fronius remains a leader in warranty, quality and service.

As mentioned before, both options would offer great service and performance, but If budget is not an issue, the recommendation is choosing Fronius over Growatt.

I hope the information has been useful and do not hesitate to contact us for any questions you have in relation to solar inverters or any solar system components.
